1 June 2017

The Judiciary is grossly lying about Peace Nanangwe and Shamira Nalweyiso’s re-arrest:

I have noted with concern the Judiciary’s false claims that social media reports about the Kajjansi Grade 1 Magistrate’s conduct in case FJ 013/16 are misleading.

It is so surprising that a reformed and truthful Judiciary over-seeing Temples of Justice can respond with such blatant lies and all due impunity to Social media reports about the Kajjansi Grade 1 Magistrate, Hope Bagyenda’s conduct: canceling the accused’s bail without considering their plights and all circumstances surrounding the case.

Foremost, it is not true that there is another accused person in the matter still at large. The two accused: Shamira Nalweyiso (Defilement victim) and Peace Nanangwe (her mother) now incarcerated were first arrested mid September 2016 and taken to Kajjansi Court sitting at Kitende and were remanded:

This is a brief chronology of events:

Ø  On 18 June 2016, Shamirah Nalweyiso, a 15 year old girl and Primary Seven candidate in the company of her mother Peace Nanangwe was directed by doctors in Mulago National Referral Hospital where she had been taken for post abortion treatment as advised by Zia Angelina Health Centre in Namugongo to report a case of defilement, SD13/18/06/2016 against Pr Bishop Patrick Makumbi of International Gospel Healing Center, Lweza whom she accused of defiling her after being examined for an abortion. The case was transferred to Kajjansi Police Station for investigations.

Ø  Sadly, instead of thoroughly investigating the defilement complaint, Police killed and had it closed then arrested the victim and her mother and charged them for Giving Police False Information on file FJ 013/16. Peace Nanangwe was remanded in Kigo Prison while Shamirah Nalweyiso, a minor was sent to Naguru Remand Home. They lacked legal representation.

Ø  Bukedde, Kalondoozi of Thursday 29 September 2016 carried a detailed story headlined “Owa P7 alindilira PLE kituufu yasobezebwako: kati bamuwa batya ekibonerezo namba 2 eky’okusibwa olw’okuloopa gwateebereza okumusobya!” which underscored Police improprieties in handling the matter.

Ø  On 17 October 2016, Peace Nanangwe was given bail and because Shamirah Nalweyiso had not been presented to court by the Naguru Remand Home authorities, she got bail on 24 October 2016. The case proceeded as follows:

·         Nov 7 2016: both accused attended court
·         Dec 5 2016: Investigating officer Ramathan Kozala testified
·         Jan 10 2017: OC CID Kajjansi Police Station Richard Mwijukye testified
·         Feb 7 2017: No prosecution witnesses but both accused attended court
·         March 29 2017: Nanangwe Peace arrived at court slightly after 09.00am when court session was still in progress but their file had just been read in their absence and an arrest warrant sought by prosecution and case adjourned to April 28 2017. The arrest warrant was overtaken by events because she appeared and Grade 1 Magistrate Hope Bagyenda told her to be early. Nanangwe explained to the Magistrate the whereabouts of the victim and co-accused (her daughter) under the charge of Naguru Reception Centre taken there by the Government for protection which did not bring her to court despite full knowledge of the circumstances under which she had been taken there.

·         April 28 2017: Nanangwe still reported alone to court when the file had been read and the Magistrate warned her to ensure that next time, on May 30 2017, Shamira Nalweyiso (Defilement victim) also attended court.

·         On Tuesday May 30 2017: Nanangwe and her daughter Shamirah Nalweyiso (Defilement victim) got to court when their file had already been read.

Ø  Notable is that from Peace Nanangwe’s account to me, after being released on bail, Bishop Patrick Makumbi perturbed that the accused were maintaining the defilement accusations against him despite its closure by the RSA Kajjansi, on several occasions in vain used people like Kwagala Reuben aka First Born to compromise them into confessing that the defilement accusations against him were a fabrication. When they refused, his men started harassing them and threatened to kidnap the victim which prompted Nanangwe to seek for her protection from the Ministry of Gender, Labor & Social Development where she got connected to SAUTI Uganda which finally got her (Shamirah Nalweyiso) into Naguru Reception Centre where she lived till 30th May 2017 when she was taken to court to be arrested.

Ø  Furthermore, since the victim was taken on by the Naguru Reception Centre, the centre made no effort to present her to court despite Nanangwe’s persistent calls on its staff to do so. Arriving at court late was due to the distance she has to travel using public transport from Namugongo through Kampala and its traffic jam to Kitende court in Kajjansi.

And though Shamirah was just being kept for protection, not in detention, her (Nanangwe’s) access to her as mother was restricted. Besides, Nanangwe complained about the staff’s hostility and utterances that the defilement case was a frame-up and wondered how they had developed such attitude. She suspected Bishop Makumbi’s influencing of the Centre’s staff to compromise the victim.

When on Thursday 25 May 2017 Nanangwe told me how she didn’t have transport to court, I offered to provide and emphasized that she must get to court early enough with the victim who the Magistrate had previously demanded to appear in court without any excuse.

On Tuesday 30 May 2017, I missed her call at about 7.30am. When I called back at around 08.00am, she told me that though she had arrived very early about 7am at Naguru Reception Centre, she could not be given the victim in the absence of the Centre’s boss who reports after 8am. When the boss arrived after 8am and the victim was finally released to her, she was barred from using a boda-boda to Kitende court and told to wait for a car scheduled to take them to court, hence their slightly late arrival.

Slightly after 10.00am Nanangwe called and told me how both had been re-arrested at Kitende Court for missing court, late coming and telling her daughter’s defilement story to the media.

Bishop Patrick Makumbi’s aide, Kwagala Reuben aka First Born’s involvement with the Naguru Reception Centre’s staff and at court confirm his influencing of the events at court. He snatched them out of court into a parked car claiming he had talked to the State Attorney and they were re-arrested.

What has unfolded is a conspiracy between the Bishop Makumbi, Police, State Attorney and Court to victimize the Defilement victim and her mother further so as to silence them on defilement, which is a very unfortunate injustice being committed by the systems that should have helped the victim to access justice. It is like telling sexual abuse victims never to dare report lest they suffer similar injustices.

My memory of the injustices I and my co-accused Pr Michael David Kyazze, Pr Martin Sempa, Pr Robert Kaira, Deborah Anita Kyomuhendo and David Mukalazi whose own sodomy complaint against Miracle Centre Cathedral Pr Robert Kayanja was deliberately trashed is still fresh on my mind. Mukalazi was framed and prosecuted with us because he refused to retract his accusations against his sodomy abuser, Pr Robert Kayanja. We now witness history repeating itself: defilement victim and mother persecuted by the very systems that must have helped the victim to access justice!

When the Judiciary says On the issue of the defilement allegations, the accused was advised to follow the proper reporting process which has not done to date,” I see a system bent on covering its own for the sake of maintaining an image. Can the Police which killed the Defilement case re-open it up to expose its rot!! That is yet to be seen. We tried to do it in the Pr Robert Kayanja sodomy saga and failed because his cash is what every officer wanted. Besides, he had state patronage just like Bishop Patrick Makumbi has. What a joke on the part of the judiciary!!!!!

It is a fact that two lawyers have tried to get the Police defilement file in vain. Bishop Makumbi has money and state patronage. So judiciary, please tell the truth and don’t joke. The judiciary has done an injustice to the defilement victim Shamirah Nalweyiso and her mother Peace Nanangwe. Nothing more and nothing less and it is telling victims never to bother report because they won’t access justice.

Finally, we need to stand against all injustices. Remember what Edmund Burke (1729 – 97) said, “The only thing necessary for the evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”

When the Judiciary lies to cover up its own rot, then there is not only need to worry, but great need for the every right thinking to rise and do something toward sorting the mess. Today it is Shamirah and Peace, tomorrow it may be you or someone you greatly love.

Peace and blessings

Dear partners, friends and fellow Ugandans,

Ref: BRIEF ON THE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN AGAINST CULTS & SODOMY IN UGANDA

Greetings from ARCH and partners in the National Committee on Cults & False Teachings Awareness, and National Coalition Against Homosexuality & Sexual Abuses in Uganda. Thanks for your continued commitment to the campaign against moral decadence in Uganda.

It is long since my last press briefing on the situation in the awareness campaigns against cults and false teachings, and homosexuality and sexual abuses in Uganda. Following is the situational brief:

On cults and false teachings awareness:

Because of our past emphasis on fighting homosexuality and sexual abuses, spiritual leaders / religious merchants (bible conmen/women, extortionists, etc) exploited that to invent new tricks to lure the desperate and finally fleece them.

To worsen the situation the media has given lots of platforms to religious mafia to peddle their lies. And whereas some have their own media empires, some have paid programs airing their manipulative adverts. Important to note are the following new trends in cultic practices:

  1. Miracle faking:

This has become a widespread cancer gradually eating up major cores of Christianity, namely: living by faith, honesty, God’s plan, purpose and timing in our lives and, being catalysts of social, spiritual, economic, political and all other transformations as the salt and light of the world. And in their despair, there are many people willing to be paid by ‘miracle’ gurus (religious merchants) to be fake miracle recipients.

Topping the list of miracle fakers among others are the following:

Ø  Prophet Samuel Kakande of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Mulago: he pays poor people including school going children from across the country to masquerade cannibals, prostitutes, witches, thieves, etc whom he ‘powerfully’ prays for and transforms. And his frauds are aired by media as truth. You all remember the cannibals who were never cannibals but were just paid to masquerade.

Ø  Pastor Robert Kayanja of the Rubaga Miracle Centre Cathedral: recently he ‘donated’ a car to a man who falsely claimed being son to seasoned business woman Hajat Nulu Mpungu, father to sets of twins one of which had a python though Pr Kayanja had claimed the same man had been born with a python and that Hajat Mpungu had bought for him a mysteriously vibrating wallet. She sued the man in Mwanga 2 Court for tarnishing her character and he confessed he had been trying to get a start in life.

Ø  Bishop Patrick Makumbi of International Gospel Healing Centre, Lweza: he promised to give Joseph Kato Mukasa, a fisherman then, a car, house, finance his wedding and give him capital to lead a prosperous life if he pretended to be mad, be taken to a shrine where he would learn witch-doctoring tricks then return and pretend to be a witchdoctor, be prayed for and purportedly healed by Bishop Makumbi himself. Kato fulfilled his part of the deal, undressed and pretended to be mad, etc as agreed. Makumbi never honoured his part, hence Kato’s expose.

Ø  Pr Yiga Augustine – Mbizaayo: This continues with his charlatanism and faked miracles and testimonies. He has his own media house to peddle his lies.

Surprising is that though some media houses have put disclaimers on televised miracle services, people continue to believe the lies, faked up miracles and testimonies. ‘Kino kirango’ (This is an advert) is no longer uncommon on such televised miracle faking services.

Ø  Sadly, just as there are many desperate people duped to fall victims, many others desperately poor people are ready to be used by pulpit charlatans to fake miracles.

  1. Financial extortions and frauds: These continue. Many religious entities are now flourishing as very lucrative business entities promising miraculous breakthroughs: healing, visas, marital, job and entrepreneurial opportunities for money. In some churches, people are given envelopes after envelopes to put in monies with promises of miracles. Even foods and other items are now sold as blessed items at exorbitant prices.

Even witchdoctors continue duping the desperate, promising them wealth allegedly given by ancestors, showing them boxes stuffed with fake monies and fleecing them. Victims have sold off their lands, homes, emptied their bank accounts and collapsed own businesses in desperate hunt for monies to give in return to the promised wealth. Still, these mafias use the media to advertise themselves and connive with some media staff to publicise them.

Parents and students have lost even tuition monies in pursuit for miracles. Unfortunately, because these religious merchants and mafia have political and security connections with some armed and / or heavily guarded by plain clothed or uniformed security operatives and kanyams, many victims fear to report lest they get victimized more.

Many victims continue bleeding and with none to turn to.

So, creating awareness still proves the best option as we continue with the campaign against decadence in our spiritual entities.

On the challenge of homosexuality; the following has developed:

  1. Homosexuality in the Education sector: this has continued to be pressurized by foreign donors to succumb to not only tolerating but respecting homosexuals as they are. This has made anti-homosexuality awareness in schools very difficult because many teachers fear to be black-listed by donors whom they want to fund their activities and in return, they further the homosexual agenda. We are particularly concerned about Uganda National Teachers Union (UNATU’s) affiliation to international organizations which are at the forefront of promoting homosexuality rights in the educational sector worldwide. Examples:

Ø  Uganda National Teachers Union (UNATU) is an affiliate of Education International (EI) whose aim (among others) spelt by education International Handbook 2016 (h) is “to combat all forms of racism and of bias or discrimination in education and society due to gender, marital status, sexual orientation, age, religion, political opinion, social or economic status or national or ethnic origin.”

This clearly indicates EI promotion of homosexuality. According to the Education International Handbook, 2016, UNATU Secretary General, James Tweheyo sits on the Education International Board: this being the case, he must be thoroughly aware of what EI stands for.

As you may well know, international affiliations have demands and conditions that must be met. There is no way UNATU can be affiliated to pro-homosexuality international organizations fostering homosexuality rights without being corrupted. Because ‘birds of the same feathers flock together,’ UNATU and its secretary General need to satisfactorily explain this closeness.

In his statement issued in Stockholm, titled, ‘Pushing the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Issue’ dated 25 September 2003, Fred Van Leeuwen, Secretary General Education International said, ‘… We must fight against open or covert discrimination by employers, public authorities, by colleagues, by parents, or by students with all available means. Here there is no room for compromise. If we believe that teachers have the right to be open about being gay or lesbian we must create the environment in which they can be themselves without fear.’

He added, ‘Number two: education unions must promote and help develop education programs aimed at fighting intolerance and prejudice, and this is crucial – they must provide professional guidance to classroom teachers to carry out these programs effectively. Although I do not mind fighting “intolerance,” I think we should be very careful in using the word “tolerance” when it comes to addressing homosexuality. We do not want gays and lesbians to be tolerated; we want them to be respected and to be recognized as equals. Nothing more, nothing-less. Number three: trade unions must enable and encourage their gay and lesbian members to organize themselves in working groups, in caucuses or in other internal structures.’

How does UNATU affiliate to an Organization whose policy is like that!!!!

Ø  UNATU is also affiliated to the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT) in the United Kingdom, committed to fostering homosexuality rights.

In its 2015 Annual Report, the following is reflected:

  1. On TUC LGBT Members’ Conference, London, the report said:

‘10.23 The NASUWT continued to play an active role in the TUC LGBT Members’ Conference in March. The NASUWT had 18 delegates attending the Conference and participated in the debates and activities. The delegates are listed in Appendix 2.

10.24 The NASUWT submitted one motion, ‘Equalisation of Survivor Benefits’, which was composited with the motion by Unite the Union, ‘End Discrimination in Survivor Benefits’, and the FDA motion ‘Equal Survivor Benefits’. The motion was moved by Unite the Union and seconded by Lee Williscroft-Ferris, NASUWT Representative on the TUC LGBT Committee. The motion was extremely popular at the Conference with many unions speaking in support of the issues raised. The motion was selected by the Conference to be the priority LGBT Conference motion to be debated at TUC Congress. This provided the NASUWT with the opportunity to second the motion at TUC Congress in September.

10.25 The NASUWT delegation actively participated in the Conference and spoke in support of a number of motions profiling the Union’s policies and work on LGBT equality. In particular, NASUWT delegates contributed to motions on ‘LGBT Workplace Bullying and Harassment in the Health Sector’, Supporting LGBT Carers’, ‘The High Risk of Homelessness’, ‘LGBT Private Rented Housing’, ‘Tackling Homophobia in Football’, and ‘International LGBT Representation’.

10.26 All nominees to the TUC LGBT Workers’ Committee were elected unopposed and Lee Williscroft-Ferris was duly re-elected to the TUC LGBT Committee.

10.27 In addition, Debbie Hayton was co-opted to the seat set aside for trans members within the TUC LGBT Committee following a second nomination process in September.’

  1. On solidarity with UNATU, the report said:

‘11.38 Throughout the year, the NASUWT continued to work in solidarity with the Ugandan Teachers’ Union, UNATU. UNATU President Margaret Rwabushaija gave a presentation at a fringe meeting at Annual Conference on the work of UNATU in tackling violence against women and girls.

11.39 The solidarity work with UNATU included a mutual exchange visit of representatives from both unions to discuss and share experiences of capacity building for trade union recruitment and organising. The NASUWT engaged with UNATU on its trade union education and training programme, industrial action activities and other campaigning work.

11.40 In December, the NASUWT National President, Graham Dawson, and the National Official for Equality and Training, Jennifer Moses, continued their engagement with UNATU by attending the UNATU Annual Conference in Kampala, Uganda. At the event, NASUWT representatives discussed with UNATU strategies for recruiting and retaining women in leadership positions within the union.’

  1. On pushing LGBT rights, the report said:

‘11.55 In July, the NASUWT was represented at the EI 7th World Congress in Ottawa, Canada. NASUWT Representatives were Victor Agüera; Geoff Branner; Fred Brown; Brian Cookson; Graham Dawson; Jennifer Moses; Abdullah Muhsin; Dr Patrick Roach; and Kathy Wallis.

11.56 The Union submitted draft resolutions for debate at the Congress on a range of issues including: the Right to Education for Displaced People, Refugees and Stateless Children; Opposing TTIP, TISA, CETA, TPP and other similar trade and investment agreements; Migration, Professional Diversity and Racism; Support of United Nations Employees’ Rights; Securing LGBTI Rights; Education and Extremism; and Teachers’ Rights in Iran. The NASUWT Representatives contributed to debates on global education and attacks on public services and teachers across the world.

The NASUWT’s annual programme of Equalities Consultation Conferences targeting Women, Disabled, BME, Young and LGBT teachers was once again highly successful, with attendance at all of these at record high levels. The growing popularity of these conferences resulted in these events being the largest gatherings of their kind in the UK.’

  1. On LGBT Equality, the report said:

‘13.27 The NASUWT continued to promote LGBT rights in the workplace as well as in the international arena. During the year, the Union sought to increase its work on raising the importance of trans equality and supporting gender identity. This was supported by Gendered Intelligence, through training sessions for Equality Officers and workshops at the Union’s Consultation Conferences.

13.28 The NASUWT also sponsored, supported and attended the UK Trans Youth Conference in November. The Union continued its close working relationship with other LGBT campaigning organisations such as Stonewall and LGBT History Month.

13.29 Feedback from members showed that discrimination in the workplace against LGBT teachers continued to be a constant concern. At the NASUWT LGBT Conference, 100% of delegates declared that they had experienced discrimination at work. Combating discrimination by priority, ongoing training of caseworkers and further development of the casework management system allowed the Union to monitor significant trends and patterns.

13.30 The NASUWT enhanced its campaign to oppose the continuing discrimination against women, civil partners and same-sex married couples in the provisions of TPS survivor benefits. The Union continued to lead the campaign through the trade union movement.

13.31 In February, the Union promoted LGBT History Month by supporting events organised by the LGBT History Month campaigning group and raising awareness of its ongoing work on Trans equality. The NASUWT LGBT Teachers’ Consultation Conference is traditionally held during LGBT History Month to commemorate this important area of work in the Union’s calendar of events.

13.32 The NASUWT continued to have a large presence at a number of Pride marches and parades celebrating LGBT equality throughout the UK. The Union provided a substantial financial contribution to the London Pride event in June.

13.33 The Union’s international work fighting homophobia worldwide continued. The NASUWT secured commitment from EI to assist unions in defending the rights of LGBT students, teachers and education support staff.

13.34 The Union’s campaigns against human and LGBT rights abuses included continuing action against the various governments introducing or reaffirming anti-gay legislations in Uganda, Russia and Pakistan.’

What more evidence do we need to prove that UNATU is being prevailed upon by her international partners (affiliates) to secretly promote homosexuality in Uganda!!!!

No wonder that in all our struggles against homosexuality, UNATU has taken a silent stand despite their awareness of homosexuality in schools practiced by students, teaching and non-teaching staff. And many schools have closed door policies when it comes to creating awareness on the challenges and dangers of indulgence in homosexuality.

On my impromptu visit to UNATU offices on Thur 04 May 2017, the Program Officer Gunsinze Robert denied UNATU dealings with NASUWT but admitted dealings with EI though he denied any knowledge of EI pro-homosexuality policies and programs. However, when presented with Education International handbook 2016, NASUWT Annual Report 2015 and International Solidarity Magazine Annual Conference 2016, Page 14 which highlighted NUSUWT presence at the 11th Annual UNATU Conference in Mbarara he got fixed and said only his boss, the Executive Secretary James Tweheyo, out of the country then could explain.

Attempts to get Mr. James Tweheyo have still proved futile.

In light of that and more, there is great and urgent need to investigate UNATU activities in regard to the Education International and NASWUT homosexuality promotion agenda. Mr Tweheyo must resign his EI position or quit UNATU or be dismissed by UNATU if he declines. There is no way he can serve two masters.

It needs to be known that even the Ministry of Education is being supported by EI. There is need for the Ministry to explain the dealings and assure Ugandans that the Pro-homosexuality agenda is not being fostered by these dealings.

  1. Homosexuality in schools:

Homosexuality in schools is increasing at a faster rate than the authorities want to admit. Dismissals of those caught still thought of as the best option for school administrators is not solving the problem but just helping to open up new fronts in new schools for those indulging. Children remain the prime targets for recruitment into the vice. Our call that counselling must be given priority still remains:

Notable are the following:

Ø  Teachers continue luring students into homosexuality:
·         When 19 year old student, Oriokol Leonard opened sodomy case CRB 633 /2016 against Adunya D Marcel, headmaster Halcyon High School Soroti, to kill the case, the school opened THEFT CASE SOROTI CRB 634 / 2016 against his mother and me.
Ø  Students lure or force fellow students into homosexuality:
·         I have handled many cases referred for counselling where students have either been lured or forced into the act by fellow students.
Ø  Children continue luring fellow children into homosexuality:
·         I recently handled a case where a 6 year old boy sodomized a 6 year old boy in Mbale

Though there is great need for pro-activity to sensitize the young about the challenges and dangers of indulgence, many schools, for reasons best known to them not ruling out fearing of self exposure have declined to open up yet secretly dismiss or cover up those indulging. The Ministry of Education is aware of homosexuality in schools but remains tight-lipped so as to cover up problematic schools some of which are government or government aided schools.

  1. Handling homosexuality by the Health Sector:

We have been so disappointed by Uganda Government Ministry of Health’s decision to procure 964,000 sex lubricants worth over U Shs 3 billion for homosexuals as if that is what is most urgent for a country struggling with a near broken-down and poorly funded health sector, where lack of drugs and equipment are the order of day, and people die because of inability to complete their prescribed doses.

It is a shame that Ministry of Health officials can make such a procurement in a country claiming to be against homosexuality to facilitate smoother indulgence in a criminal act when the Uganda Cancer institute is almost non-functional, Uganda trained medical doctors are leaving the country for greener pastures, many people are languishing in abject poverty and unable to meet their medical bills, mothers still die in labour, etc.

This action proves how Government lacks the will to fight homosexuality but just hoodwinks Ugandans to believe that it is seriously against it for purely populist political reasons.

Surprising is that Government has never contributed to our cause against homosexuality, not even in the least. The most it has done is using its agencies: Police, Directorate of Public Prosecutions and justice system to persecute us and muzzle the cause, and make it appear as if homosexuality sex activities are not dangerous to those indulging.

I wonder if whoever made the decision to procure the lubricants actually did so in their right minds! You cannot facilitate your people to ruin their lives. It also proves how Government lacks prioritizing.

It further proves how Government has deliberately betrayed our cause against homosexuality. You cannot claim to be against homosexuality and then procure lubricants to facilitate those indulging to do it better.

However, it should be noted that this is not the first time Government has gone against the constitution preamble, (For God and my Country) in respect of homosexuality. MARPI Clinic in Mulago Hospital has already been facilitating homosexuals to do it better and ‘more safely.’ TASO has already been compelled to allow homosexuals into the clinics.

Therefore, the ministry of Health needs to explain such a law breaking undertaking and its lack of support for the anti-homosexuality alliance.

  1. Justice for sodomy victims:

It is disheartening to say that for many sodomy victims, justice is still an illusion as systems still favour perpetrators. Even those who finally seem to get justice fail to get redress.

Ø  Criminal case NAKAWA COURT CA 63-2014 / CA 074-14 / Kasangati CRB 911-14: where Kalungi Christopher 23yrs and Mahad Lusiba 16 yrs sodomized 7 year old Sembatya Owen in Lutete in early November 20: since judgment was promised on notice in 2015, it has never come. Justice Wilson Musene Masalu has since left the station.

Ø  High Court Kampala Criminal Case No 803 of 2016: This sodomy defilement crime was committed in the first half of 2014 and the perpetrator, teacher Makande George was arrested on 23 May 2014. It has taken three years to come to its conclusion and its trial has been the longest in the Justice Murangira presided over High Court session. At some point the victim and his mother had given up pursuit for justice: counselling enabled them to stay focussed.

Ø  When Major Salambwa’s son, Katumba Abdul was sodomized and he went to Makindye Police Post to report, he was told he had no evidence and instead advised to go back to the perpetrator and allow to be sodomized again when recording the acts on camera! The perpetrator was never apprehended. The victim gave up pursuit for justice.

Ø  When Katokye Moses Bekunda, owner of Coopers Bar Kansanga just opposite Kampala International University (KIU) Kabalagala was reported for Sodomy via SD-07-04-2014 (CRB 585/2014), he opened up tramped up extortion case KMPS SD 05/22/04/2014 at Kampala Metro Police South, Katwe where the victims, Good Samaritan and Investigating officer were implicated and to PSU where the Investigating officer was tried then cleared. When the Good Samaritan was detained, victims complaining were compelled to retract their accusations!

Ø  It is no secret that Sodomy king Chris Mubiru was cleared of sodomy abuse by the High Court. To his victim, Emmanuel Nyanzi, justice is an illusion.

Ø  Most of Pr Robert Kayanja’s sodomy victims who testified against us in 2011-12 have already contacted me with remorseful apologies emphasizing that Pr Robert Kayanja had sodomized them despite his Miracle-wood staging of Samson Mukisa’s sodomy confession. They include: Matovu Robson, Mukisa Samson, Talemwa Isaac, Mutumba Johnson and Ntwatwa James Brian.

Ø  2015 8-year old Sodomy victim Marvin Tubanone’s case in Kaliro has never taken off. Good is that we succeeded getting him support to be treated at Kampala Hospital. He still needs treatment for the itching scars.

Notable is that the cause against homosexuality was deliberately fragmented by proponents of the annulled Anti-Homosexuality Act 2014. When it was annulled, most of the anti – homosexuality activists quit like Jesus Christ’s disciples did after witnessing his arrest, prosecution, crucification and death. It needs to be re-galvanized if we are to have a safer world for the younger and coming generations.

Finally, the struggle continues and every right thinking Ugandan must come on board. We pledge to continue pushing the causes against cults and false teachings, homosexuality and sexual abuses without fear, favor or compromise no matter the challenges ahead.

Thanks, peace and blessings.
